THE 2ND ANNUAL SALENTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL SET FOR
SEPTEMBER 10 - 18, 2005
TRICASE - LECCE, ITALY. (OCTOBER 10, 2004) &8211; The 2005 SALENTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, now in its 2nd year, will take place on September 10 through September 18. in Tricase - Lecce, Italy, Festival Director Luigi Campanile announced today.
The Festival features an International Competition (World Cinema): 12 International films in their original language will compete for the "VALLONEA AWARD" for BEST FILM and GRAND JURY AWARD. THE WORLD IN SHORT International short-film competition. A WINDOW TO THE WORLD International documentary competition. FOCUS ON ITALIAN CINEMA: A showcase of new Italian films. A "LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" will be presented to a leading Italian actor who has demonstrated dedication, talent and love for the art of Italian cinema. A "SPECIAL TRIBUTE" will be awarded for the artistic career of a legendary world renown actor.
Campanile also announced the new "Partnership Program" and the "2005 SALENTO FILM & VIDEO GRANT". The Partnership program is for us to work together with other Organization, and help each other to spread awareness about the important contribution that The Salento Film Festival offer to the Salento community.
"2005 SALENTO FILM & VIDEO GRANT" is an extraordinary challenge to the filmmakers around the world who will compete for the opportunity to bring their screenplay to life. The Grants will provide for all aspects of production and post-production for the winning short-film on Goods and Services budgeted under Euro €. 10,000.00. The project must have a completed screenplay and be maximum 15 minutes length and to be shoot in Salento area. Submission deadline April 30, 2005. The entry form will be online by november 20, 2004
The Salento International Film Festival is a nine-days film festival showcasing the independent films from around the world and honoring the achievement of some of the most successful artists working in the film industry today.
Is celebration of films and filmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures' and peoples'.
Submission deadline for the SIFF 2005 is May 31, 2005 • Late deadline June 15, 2005 - The 2005 entry form will be online by November 20, 2004
